Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav arrived in Delhi on Tuesday for a crucial meeting with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. The meeting is expected to focus on seat-sharing and alliance strategy within the INDIA bloc.

Speaking briefly to reporters at the Delhi airport, Yadav said, “Today is our official meeting. We will discuss the strategies for Bihar elections.”

RJD MP Manoj Jha had earlier confirmed that the two parties would be discussing the alliance framework and seat-sharing agreement as they prepare for what promises to be a high-stakes electoral battle.

With elections expected around October-November, both the ruling NDA and the opposition alliance are intensifying campaign efforts. The RJD and Congress, long-time allies in the state, aim to present a united front alongside other INDIA bloc members.

Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar recently highlighted issues like unemployment and migration, leading a ‘Naukri Do’ rally in Bihar, joined by senior leader Rahul Gandhi in Begusarai on April 7.

Meanwhile, the BJP has begun its own aggressive campaigning. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in a rally on March 30, criticized RJD’s past governance, while Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary met on April 13 to strategize for the NDA.

The Congress-RJD meeting is expected to take place at Kharge’s residence, and the Congress chief is slated to address a public rally in Buxar on April 20.

As the countdown to the elections begins, Bihar is gearing up for a tightly contested political showdown between the NDA—comprising JD(U) and BJP—and the INDIA bloc led by the RJD and Congress.
